We actually didn’t have a playroom in our old home, so that’s probably why I am so excited to get this space finished! I just love that they have their own play area…and it’s not in my living room!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

3 Ways You Should Be Rocking Your Mommy Bun – #FridayFavorites

We have all seen it…the Mommy Bun. You know the mom with their hair thrown into a messy bun on top of their head?

I will be the first to admit, I was wearing this hairstyle long before I ever became a mommy. But, since becoming a mommy I sport this style ON.THE.DAILY.

This hairstyle definitely receives some mixed reviews, but I am proud of my mommy bun! When my hair goes up it means I am in mommy mode, and my focus is on my kiddos.

With that being said, I do like to mix it up a little. So today, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite ways to Rock The Mommy Bun!

Let’s start with first things first. In case you’re not quite sure how to wear the mom bun. Here is a tutorial on how to make it work for you.

3 Ways You Should Be Rocking Your Mommy Bun

One of my favorite ways to rock the mommy bun is actually by wearing two! I love a double top knot, and honestly I get a lot of compliments when I wear them.

Here is a great example of the double mommy bun. What do you think?

3 Ways You Should Be Rocking Your Mommy Bun

Another one of my favorite ways to rock the mommy bun is to add a headband. I think it adds a little something, and helps to ease a little of the hot mess sparkle. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Street Scene provides a lovely tutorial on how to create your own mommy bun headband here. Or you can buy some super cute Boho headband wraps here. They come in a 4 pack and are under $10! What is not to love?!?

3 Ways You Should Be Rocking Your Mommy Bun

My new favorite that I have been rocking a lot lately, is the half top knot. I feel like it shows that his mama has still got it, and stands out just a bit from the crowd of yoga pants and mommy buns. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Unique Wedding Gifts For Every Budget- #FridayFavorites

We will be heading to a wedding in a few short weeks, and it got me thinking.ย There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of weddings during the summer months.

Now, I’m going to be honest…sometimes I go straight to the registry, but I think that it can be really fun to do something totally unique.

I remember when my husband and I were planning our registry I knew exactly what I wanted. I was so incredibly grateful for all of the gifts that we received, but some of the most memorable gifts were not off of our registry.

I am one of those people that really like to find the ‘perfect’ gift. I enjoy the thrill of finding that unique, one of a kind thing, that the couple will just LOVE! I’m telling you …I am a real thrill seeker! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, I thought I would share with you some of the wedding gifts that I am majorly crushing on right now!

Theย Love Is pillow by Tori Tissell.

This pillow is so sweet, and has the classic 1 Corinthians 13 verses printed on it. I think it makes for a lovely, and heart felt gift for the happy couple.

Another unique gift is this framed wedding vows, or first dance lyrics by GraceStone Designs.

I really like the simplicity of this, and the wording and frame can be customized. I think this would make a great gift, and I know it would warm my heart to pass by it in my home daily.

If you know an adventurous couple that loves to travel, this Scratch Off Travel Map by The MapLab will make the perfect gift.

I think this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen! It comes with the map covered in gold foil. The couple then scratches off the places they have visited, and beneath is a beautifully detailed and colorful map. How neat!

If the couple loves to entertain, how about these adorable appetizer forks by CrosbyandTaylor?

I love the organic design of these, and they are so eye catching. These are so perfectly adorable I just might have to grab some for myself!

And for that social media savvy couple, I think thisย Instagram Photo Bookย By Artifact Uprising are just about the coolest thing ever!

I think this is a great way to ‘merge’ the couple’s worlds into one, and it makes a fantastic coffee table book!

What are some of your favorite wedding gifts to give, or that you received? Do you like to stick with the registry, or think outside of the box? Share your thoughts with me! XO

#FridayFavorites – This Mommy’s Must Haves For The Beach

It is starting to get H-O-T outside, and that means one thing…Summer is coming.

This post contains affiliate links. See disclosure policy.

With the upcoming summer season I thought it would be fun to focus on some of my favorite beach themed #FridayFavorites. I am really excited about this list, and hope that you enjoy it too! So, let’s dive in! (Pun totally intended ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

One of my beach must-have’s is a beach caddy stake. If you have never heard of them, they are an absolutely ingenious invention of a one stop beverage, phone, and sunglass holder that you spike into the sand.

Y’all, they are seriously amazing! So simple, but a total game changer. No longer do you have to worry about your drink spilling or rolling, and no sand getting into your phone.

You can get your hands on one of these amazing caddy stakes here.

I need to take a time out to admit that I love Pottery Barn Kids…I mean like obsession level love Pottery Barn Kids! Please tell me that I am not alone…no really please so I can convince my husband that I am in fact not the only one!

I #lovemyPBK for so many reasons, but staying on the beach topic, have you seen their beach towels? I mean, come on!!! So stinking cute!

Since PB Kids is super awesome, you can even personalize the towels with your precious kiddo’s name! They have a ton of perfectly sweet and cute options, so shop your heart out.

We all need sunscreen to keep our skin protected from those rays. When it comes to my babes I really try to do my research on what will work best, and have the safest ingredients for our family. Here are some of my favorites.

California Baby Super Sensitive SPF +30 Sunscreen Fragrance Free

This sunscreen is thick, so you only need a little, and it truly is fragrance free. I absolutely love its coverage, and it is great for the whole family.

Sunology Kid’s and Baby Safe Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50

I seriously love this sunscreen! It is super safe for the whole family, and has excellent coverage. It is also fragrance free, and works great with sensitive skin…which is perfect for my little girl’s super sensitive skin.

What are some of your beach time favorites? I would love to hear from you, so please share! ย Leave me a comment below!

#FridayFavorites

Hello my darlings!

Is everyone ready for the big day? I am happy to say the I have all of my shopping finished! I cannot tell you how good that feels to say.

I have seen so many lovely things while shopping online, and perusing the shops. So, I decided to mix this week’s list up a bit. I am thinking of it as a Mommy Wish List.

I genuinely do not ask for much at Christmas, or any other time really. Especially after moving into our fixer upper. I prefer put any extra money into our home, rather than something shiny for me. Plus, I’m a mom, and well…aren’t we pretty much used to putting everyone else first?

Don’t get me wrong, I genuinely don’t really need much, and I would always rather spend on my children, family, or friends any day.

With that being said, if I did have a Christmas List these items would definitely be on it. Continue reading “#FridayFavorites”

#FridayFavorites

Hello my darlings!

It’s that time again! Another installment of my latest #FridayFavorites. I just love doing this series. I really enjoy being able to share with you all of my fun finds!

If you have noticed, I am drawn to handmade goods and small businesses. I really believe in shopping small, and supporting local when possible. It just makes me feel good!

I always appreciate some small business love thrown my way too. If you are interested in purchasing some handmade crocheted items, feel free to check out my shop here. I have some great coffee cozies, hats, and headband earwarmers that make great holiday gifts.

Shameless plug over…let’s get to my new favorites. ๐Ÿ™‚

My first favorite is Matilda Jane clothing.

I was very recently introduced to the Matilda Jane world, and boy am I loving it. They have the absolute cutest prints ever, and these clothes are super soft.

Another reason that I love Matilda Jane is that they have leggings that will match multiple tops and dresses. Each piece of clothing typically has multiple prints, so you can mix and match for days, which keeps this mommy very happy.

Matilda Jane carries clothes in a range of sizes from baby to Mommy. There are some really great pieces I am eyeing for myself. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, Joanna Gaines has teamed up with Matilda Jane, and has recently launched a new line. I may have gone a little crazy buying all of the darling outfits, but I mean check out this dress!

This Seedling Dress is super fun, and just about the cutest thing ever. Plus, I may have a slight obsession with Joanna Gaines. I’m pretty sure she is my spirit animal. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Matilda Jane does not have a store front. Instead they have trunk shows that are held by a Trunk Keeper and a hostess. The set up is super fun, and looks just like a small shop, but in the comfort of a home. You can check out there website here, and ooh and aah over all of the cuteness. You can also find a Trunk Keeper closest to you here.

My next favorite is the Etsy shop Sprouted Designs.

This shop has the most amazing nature inspired designed cloth napkins and flour sack towels. The prints are absolutely fantastic, and I am always a sucker for anything natural and rustic.

I mean these flour sack towels…come on!!! These are amazing! Sprouted Designs even has clothing for your kiddos. I am totally loving this dandelion tee.

Check out Sprouted Designs here, and get your hands on some of these fantastic items.

I hope you enjoy this week’s list, and are able to find some favorites of your own. XO

Hello my darlings! I hope that you have had a fantastic week!

I have been one busy mommy. Along with the daily mommy duties, of you know making the world go round… our youngest has been cutting her back molars. Let’s just say she is not taking it well, and neither one of us is getting much sleep.

Through the chaos and caffeine, I have still been able to find some new favorites. I mean, I always have time for favorites! So with that, let’s get this list started! Enjoy! XO

Hello my darlings! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!ย If you are like me, then you are still recovering from all of the festivities. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This was the first year that I prepared the entire meal (excluding the turkey) by myself, with maybe a few ‘cheats’. But, I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it. Being able to provide a wonderful homemade meal for my family makes this mama’s heart smile.

This week’s #FridayFavorites list includes some super fun finds. I am featuring some fantastic shoes, my absolute favorite pair of leggings, and adorable PJ’s that give back.
