Reasons to love the One Pan Taco Skillet

Taco skillets are simple to toss together on those busy weeknights where you need an easy meal. The Taco Skillet base recipe is made with 3 main ingredients that you can create into your own family favorite.

Using perfectly seasoned ground beef, beans, and salsa, it’s easy to make everyone happy! Since it’s one pan, clean up is minimal and it’s versatile to use throughout your week for leftovers making this meal one you can save money and time.

What you’ll need

  • Ground beef. I like using a 90/10 for this recipe but feel free to use what is on hand in your home.
  • Beans. Keep it simple by adding black beans or your favorite beans of choice.
  • Salsa. I use this homemade salsa recipe or choose any jar of salsa your family enjoys.
  • Spices. Make your own taco seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and chili powder or buy your favorite taco seasoning brand. I use Siete Taco Seasoning.
  • Cheese. You can top this with your favorite cheese to make it a cheese taco skillet meal.

What meals can I make with the Taco Skillet?

Since this is the base of the recipe you may wonder what amazing yummy meals you can make. The possibilities are endless but here are a few of the favorites.

  • Taco bowl. Grab your favorite rice and serve the Taco skillet over rice to make an easy taco bowl. Top with avocado, cheese, sour cream, and/or chopped chives.
  • Burrito. Enjoy the Taco Skillet inside a flour tortilla and make an easy on the go burrito for a quick lunch idea or a busy night meal.
  • Loaded nachos. Who doesn’t love a nacho bake? On a baking sheet place your favorite tortilla chips down and top with the taco skillet plus cheese and bake on 350 until the cheese is melted (5-10 minutes).
  • Tostada. Grab yourself a corn tortilla or hard shell and top it with the Taco Skillet. Bake in the oven or Air Fry for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
